Rolf C. Margenau
Rolf C. Margenau of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, died February 13, 2025. A native of New Haven, Rolf served his country as a Sergeant in the Korean War, working as a writer and photographer for Stars and Stripes, the military newspaper. He received both his undergraduate and his law degrees from Yale and practiced international law for some 30 years which fed his passion for world travels. In 1956, Rolf married Nancy, his wife of 59 years, who survives. They eventually moved to Rumson, New Jersey. While there, Rolf and Nancy dedicated their energies to building HABcore, Inc., a non-profit agency serving the area’s homeless which he considered to be his proudest professional accomplishment. He indulged his love of antique cars by rehabbing a 1930 Dodge Touring Coupe and a 1926 Pierce Arrow. He was also a gardener becoming known by neighbors as “Farmer Rolf.” Later in life, he and Nancy moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he became a writer of six novels and two photography books.
