Robert A. MacLean

Dr. Robert A. (Bob) MacLean died in Houston, Texas on August 18, 2024. He married Audrey Taylor whom he met while vacationing in Hawaii in July, 1956. Following his undergraduate graduation, Bob attended Yale Law School for two years before heading to Cornell Medical School to become a doctor, graduating in 1962. He and Audrey lived in New Haven and New York City before moving to Houston, Texas, in 1966. Bob dedicated his professional career to supporting the public health needs of his adopted city, Houston, and state, serving as Deputy Director of Houston Public Health and Acting Commissioner of Texas Department of Health in Austin, Texas. Among his many interests, Bob had a passion for sailing and the sea, maintaining a sailboat for many years. He is survived by Audrey.
