Lawrence A. (Larry) Strauss

Larry Strauss died on May 2, 2025, in hospice care following injuries from a fall in his home in Lenox, Massachusetts. Larry graduated from the Navy’s Officer Candidate School and was assigned to the Key West Naval Base in Florida where he. served on a destroyer escort among other duties. After his discharge in 1960, he worked in his family’s clothing business in Ashville, North Carolina, before moving to New York City to pursue opportunities in the financial industry. Larry obtained an MBA at New York University and had a rich, multifaceted career in several industries including nearly a decade as an executive at Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. He also spent time in commercial real estate and many years in finance with various firms including Lehman Brothers. His wife of over half a century, Fran, survives.
